Financial Fast

It’s that time again where Bethel Restoration Church FInancial Fast will begin on January 3rd.  This fast will last for 60 days and we stand in great anticipation to hear the testimonies that will come forth.  Please be advised that we will utilize the following email address [email protected].  Our focus will be budgeting, saving, investing, and credit restoration.  The BRC Financial Fast will meet every two week via zoom, and the link will be provided.  

It is important that you pull your credit reports from the following listed hyperlinks as we will take the time to go over your reports.  You will strategically learn how to read your credit reports and discover errors.  Also, you will learn how to construct a letter quoting consumer law to file a proper dispute. If you do not have your credit reports you can obtain free copies from www.annualcreditreport.com.  If you want to know your FICO scores then I recommend www.myfico.com or www.experian.com.  Also, you will learn how to construct a proper letter quoting consumer law to file a proper dispute.  ** Please note there is a fee**  

We encouraged you to SAVE, SAVE AND SAVE. If you can please open a HYSA (High Yielding Savings Account).  This account will be the start of your emergency fund.  You can go to Ally.com or American Express and open up these accounts and have a certain amount drafted from your original account.  The goal after this fast is to have close to 1000.00 in it.  You will be held accountable.  

Please note during the fast our total, and complete objective is to be consistent, disciplined all while saving  money.  if you can please order “The 21 day Financial Fast” by Michellle Singletary.  During the fast you cannot do the following:

  1. Utilize your credit cards.
  2. Utilize your debit cards
  3. Order from door dash, fast foods or eat out at restaurants.
  4. No entertainment – find something free to do.
  5. No on-line shopping, not unless it’s a necessity.   

 

During the fast you can do the following:

  1. Buy only what you need. 
  2. Pay your bills on time.
  3. Pay down your debt.
  4. Utilize your gift cards.
  5. Save, Save, and Save.
